Why Lease the Audi e-tron GT?

The e-tron GT is the car that proved an electric Audi could be something you want rather than something you accept. It is a low, wide, properly fast grand tourer, and the 2024 update gave it a larger 105kWh battery, of which 97kWh is usable, along with 800 volt electrics.

That 800 volt architecture is the detail that matters most in daily use. It lets the car take a DC charge at up to 320kW, which is near the top of what any production car will accept, so a motorway stop is genuinely brief rather than a significant part of your day.

quattro or S e-tron GT?

Both have two motors and quattro all wheel drive, and both use the same 105kWh battery. The difference is output, and what that costs you in range.

e-tron GT quattro

495bhp, rising to 575bhp on overboost. 0 to 62mph in 4.0 seconds and official range up to 386 miles. The longest legs in the range, and quick by any sane standard.

S e-tron GT

583bhp, rising to 671bhp on overboost. 0 to 62mph in 3.4 seconds and official range up to 375 miles. Six tenths quicker for about eleven miles of range.

Standard or Vorsprung

Each version comes in standard form or as Vorsprung, which bundles the equipment most buyers would otherwise specify individually.

For most people the quattro is the one. 495bhp is already more than you can reasonably use on a British road, it goes furthest between charges, and the S exists mainly for the people who want the next step. If you want the step beyond that, the RS e-tron GT has its own page.

Living With It

Here is the bit worth being honest about, and it is the thing to settle before you commit rather than after. The boot is 405 litres, with another 85 litres in a compartment under the bonnet. For a car that is nearly five metres long, that is modest, and it is because the e-tron GT is a low slung grand tourer rather than a practical saloon. The shape that makes it look the way it does is the same shape that limits what you can put in it.

For a lot of owners that is entirely beside the point, and the front compartment is genuinely useful for charging cables, which is exactly where you want them. But if this is going to be the only car and you carry people and luggage regularly, go and look at it with your own bags before you sign anything. The A6 is the sensible alternative and we would say so rather than sell you the wrong car.

On running costs, a fully electric car sits in the lowest benefit in kind bands, which is why so many of these are taken as company cars. Bands change each tax year, so take the current figures from your accountant.

Leasing an Audi e-tron GT

Leasing suits a car like this particularly well. Electric performance cars are exactly the segment where nobody can tell you with confidence what the car will be worth in three years, and on contract hire that is not your problem to solve. You agree a fixed monthly figure and hand it back.

Our leasing guides cover setting term and mileage, and business leasing explains the position if it is going through a company, which for an electric car of this kind it very often is.

Audi e-tron GT Leasing FAQs

Official range is up to 386 miles for the e-tron GT quattro and up to 375 miles for the S e-tron GT, both from a 105kWh battery of which 97kWh is usable. As with any electric car, expect less than the official figure in cold weather and at sustained motorway speeds.

Output, and a little range. The quattro has 495bhp rising to 575bhp on overboost and does 0 to 62mph in 4.0 seconds. The S has 583bhp rising to 671bhp and does it in 3.4 seconds, giving up around eleven miles of range for the privilege. Both are dual motor with quattro all wheel drive.

At up to 320kW on a DC rapid charger, thanks to its 800 volt electrical architecture. That is near the top of what any production car can accept, so a motorway top-up is short rather than a planned stop.

405 litres at the back, plus 85 litres in a compartment under the bonnet. That is modest for a car almost five metres long, which is the price of the low grand tourer shape. The front compartment is the ideal place for charging cables.

Yes, every version has two motors and quattro all wheel drive as standard. There is no rear wheel drive single motor e-tron GT.

The RS versions are considerably more powerful and sit above the S in the range. They have their own page, so compare them there rather than here.

It is Audi's top equipment specification, bundling in most of the options you would otherwise add individually. It is offered alongside the standard specification on each version of the e-tron GT.

LetsLease is a credit broker rather than the lender. We arrange the agreement and place it with a funder such as Lex Autolease, Novuna, Ayvens or Santander, and that funder owns the vehicle and holds the agreement with you. Because we work across several funders rather than one, we can compare how each prices the same car.
