Why Lease the Audi RS3?

The engine is the answer. The RS3 uses a 2.5 litre five cylinder turbo producing 400PS and 500Nm, and five cylinder engines have become genuinely rare. It sounds unlike anything else on the road, with an offbeat thrum that no four or six cylinder can imitate, and that is most of the reason people choose this car over its rivals.

It is also extremely fast in a way that works in Britain. 0 to 62mph takes 3.8 seconds, through a seven speed S tronic dual clutch gearbox and quattro with a torque splitter, which can send drive across the rear axle rather than simply front to back. On a damp British road that is worth more than another fifty horsepower would be.

Sportback or Saloon?

Both are sold in the UK and they are mechanically identical, so this is a shape decision.

RS 3 Sportback

The five door hatchback, and the one most people picture when they think of an RS3. 282 litres of boot, rising to 1,104 litres with the rear seats folded.

RS 3 Saloon

The four door, which looks lower and longer and is the subtler of the two. Its boot is a different shape rather than simply bigger, so ask us for the figure on the exact version.

Worth being honest about the practicality, because it is the one thing that catches people out. 282 litres is a small boot, smaller than plenty of superminis offer, and the RS3 is a compact car carrying a lot of hardware. The rear seats fold to give 1,104 litres when you need it, and for most owners that is fine, but if this is your only car and you regularly carry more than two people and their bags, go and load it before you commit.

Choosing Your Specification

Three levels, and the step up changes more than the equipment list.

  • RS 3, the standard car, with the Technology Pack Pro available as an option.
  • Carbon Black, adding carbon exterior detailing and the darker treatment, with the same option available.
  • Carbon Vorsprung, which has the Technology Pack Pro as standard and raises the top speed from 155mph to 174mph.

The 2024 facelift brought a redesigned grille, larger side air intakes, chequered flag daytime running lights, a reshaped rear diffuser with oval tailpipes, and the torque splitter now working together with the adaptive dampers. Power stayed at 400PS, which was already the right number. Equipment moves between model years, so tell us what you want and we will check it against the specification you are quoted.

Leasing an Audi RS3

There is no diesel, no mild hybrid and no plug-in hybrid RS3, so be realistic about running costs. A 400PS petrol quattro uses fuel, tyres and brakes at a rate that matches its performance, and on company car tax it sits at the wrong end of the bands. Most RS3 leases we place are personal agreements for exactly that reason, and rates change each tax year so take the current figures from your accountant.

Insurance is worth quoting before you commit rather than after, because on a car like this it can be a significant part of the monthly total. A maintenance package is worth pricing too, since it turns tyres and servicing into one fixed figure. Our leasing guides cover term and mileage.

Audi RS3 Leasing FAQs

A 2.5 litre five cylinder turbocharged petrol producing 400PS and 500Nm, driving through a seven speed S tronic dual clutch gearbox and quattro all wheel drive with a torque splitter. Five cylinder engines are now rare, and the sound is a large part of the car's appeal.

0 to 62mph in 3.8 seconds, with a top speed of 155mph, rising to 174mph in Carbon Vorsprung specification.

Yes. Audi sells both the RS 3 Sportback, which is the five door hatchback, and the RS 3 Saloon in the UK. They are mechanically identical, so it is purely a question of which shape you prefer.

282 litres on the Sportback with the seats up, rising to 1,104 litres folded. That is small for a car of this size, so if the RS3 is going to be your only car it is worth loading it with your own luggage before you commit. The Saloon's boot is a different shape rather than simply larger, so ask us for the figure on the version you are considering.

It allows drive to be moved across the rear axle rather than only between front and rear, sending more to the outside wheel in a corner. On a wet British road that does more for how the car feels than extra power would, and since the facelift it works together with the adaptive dampers.

RS 3, Carbon Black and Carbon Vorsprung. The Technology Pack Pro is optional on the first two and standard on Carbon Vorsprung, which also has the higher 174mph top speed.

No. The RS3 has no diesel, no mild hybrid and no plug-in hybrid version. It is a petrol only car, which is worth factoring into running costs and particularly into company car tax, where it sits at the wrong end of the bands.

LetsLease is a credit broker rather than the lender. We arrange the agreement and place it with a funder such as Lex Autolease, Novuna, Ayvens or Santander, and that funder owns the vehicle and holds the agreement with you. Because we work across several funders rather than one, we can compare how each prices the same car.
