Land Rover Lease Deals Across the Full Range

Land Rover sells something almost nobody else does, which is a luxury car that will genuinely go where a tractor goes. That combination is the reason these cars hold the appeal they do, and it is also why they are more complicated to lease sensibly than most.

One thing worth knowing about how the brand is organised. Its parent company now runs Range Rover, Defender and Discovery as distinct families rather than as trim levels of one another, with Land Rover as the umbrella above them. So a Range Rover Evoque and a Defender are relatives rather than siblings, and they feel much less alike than the shared badge suggests.

Which Land Rover Should You Lease?

Three families, each with a different character.

Range Rover

The Range Rover is the quietest and most comfortable car the company builds. The Range Rover Sport is the same idea with sharper handling and a lower roofline.

Smaller Range Rovers

The Evoque is the compact one and the easiest to live with in town. The Velar sits between the Evoque and the Sport and is the most design led car in the range.

Defender

The Defender is the serious off-roader, offered in three body lengths. It is the most capable car here and the one that draws the most attention.

Discovery

The Discovery is the practical seven seater, with a third row adults can genuinely use. The Discovery Sport is the smaller version, and it is in its final year.

That last point is worth flagging. Discovery Sport production ends in December 2026 after eleven years, with no direct replacement planned, the factory slot going to an electric Range Rover instead. The Evoque and the Velar both continue and will keep getting updates. If the Discovery Sport is the one you want, it is the last chance to take one on a new agreement, and if you would rather not run the final build of an outgoing car, the Evoque is the natural alternative.

Diesel, Petrol, Hybrid or Electric

These are heavy cars, so the engine choice matters more here than on a hatchback.

The diesels remain the sensible default if you tow, cover long distances or want the most relaxed progress, because they pull hard from low revs and do not mind the weight. The petrols are smoother and quieter but work harder, and that shows in fuel use. The plug-in hybrids are the sweet spot for company car drivers, since they cut benefit in kind substantially, but only if you can charge at home or at work. Left unplugged, a plug-in hybrid in a car this heavy is the worst of both worlds.

On the electric side, Range Rover Electric has entered production after being pushed back from its original timetable, in HSE, Autobiography and SV specifications. If an electric Range Rover is what you are after, speak to us about where that sits rather than relying on what was announced a year ago, because the timetable has already moved once. Benefit in kind rates change each tax year, so take the current figures from your accountant rather than last year's.

Choosing Your Trim

The Range Rover family runs broadly S, SE, Dynamic SE, Dynamic HSE, Autobiography and then SV at the top. The Defender uses its own ladder built around S, SE, the X-Dynamic versions and X. Exact names vary by model and change with the model year, so always check the specification on the car you are quoted rather than assuming.

Here is the practical tip, and it is specific to this brand. Air suspension transforms how these cars ride, and it is not standard everywhere in the range. Where you have the choice, it is the single option most worth having, far more so than a wheel upgrade. The Dynamic trims bring larger wheels and a firmer set up, which looks superb and costs you some of the serenity that is the main reason to buy one of these in the first place. If the comfort is what you are paying for, do not undermine it with the biggest wheels on the list.

Two Things Worth Doing Before You Order

Get an insurance quote first. Security on these cars is now very good. The manufacturer has put more than ten million pounds into anti-theft work and updated over 65,000 vehicles in the UK, and since January 2022 only 0.07% of new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models on the road have been stolen, with Defenders at 0.3% since 2020. Insurance pricing has been slower to catch up with that improvement, so it is worth checking a quote on the exact model and trim before you commit, particularly in London. It takes five minutes and it is the one check most people skip.

Price up a maintenance package. These are heavy cars that get through tyres, and servicing is premium priced. Adding a maintenance package turns that into one fixed monthly figure instead of occasional large bills, which is why most people leasing a Land Rover take one. Our leasing guides cover what they do and do not include.

Land Rover Leasing FAQs

Yes. Production ends in December 2026 after eleven years, with no direct replacement planned. The Evoque and the Velar both continue and will keep receiving updates. If you want a Discovery Sport, this is the last opportunity to take one on a new agreement.

The Range Rover Evoque is usually the most affordable way into the brand, with the Discovery Sport close behind while it remains available. Plug-in hybrid versions can compare better than they first appear for company car drivers because of the benefit in kind position, and rates change each tax year.

Far less than they were. The manufacturer has invested more than ten million pounds in anti-theft work and updated over 65,000 vehicles in the UK, which cut thefts of 2018 to 2022 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models by more than 40%. On newer cars the figures are low, with only 0.07% of new Range Rover and Range Rover Sport models stolen since January 2022. Insurance pricing has been slower to reflect that, so get a quote before you commit.

Yes, and it is the single most useful thing you can do before signing. Insurance on these models can be expensive, particularly in London and other major cities, and some insurers have been cautious about covering them. Quote the exact model and trim you intend to order, because a comfortable lease payment is no help if the insurance on top is not affordable.

Yes. Range Rover Electric has entered production, in HSE, Autobiography and SV specifications, after being pushed back from its original timetable. Because that timetable has already moved once, it is worth asking us where it currently stands rather than relying on an older announcement.

Diesel suits towing, long distances and relaxed cruising, because these are heavy cars and a diesel handles the weight without working hard. A plug-in hybrid is usually better for company car drivers because of the benefit in kind saving, but only if you can charge regularly. Left unplugged in a car this heavy, a plug-in hybrid gives you the worst of both.

LetsLease is a credit broker rather than the lender. We arrange the agreement and place it with a funder such as Lex Autolease, Novuna, Ayvens or Santander, and that funder owns the vehicle and holds the agreement with you. Because we work across several funders rather than one, we can compare how each prices the same car.

The Discovery is the proper seven seater, with a third row that adults can use rather than one reserved for children. The Defender is also offered in a longer body with a third row. The Range Rover is available in long wheelbase form with a third row as well, though it is the most expensive route to seven seats.
