Compare live Land Rover Defender lease deals below from an independent, whole of market broker. Three body lengths, six cylinder diesels, a new petrol six, a plug-in hybrid and the V8 OCTA. See the Discovery, the Range Rover Sport, or the rest of the Land Rover range.
The Defender is the rare case of a reinvention that worked. It kept the silhouette, the upright glass and the genuine off road hardware, then put a modern aluminium body and a proper interior around them. It is one of very few cars that works as a family SUV on Monday and tows a horsebox out of a wet field on Saturday without either job feeling like a stretch.
It was refreshed for the 2027 model year in July 2026, which brought new bumpers and a larger grille, a new Vertex trim at the top of the mainstream range, a new petrol six cylinder engine, and a six seat layout for the 110. The old 5.0 litre supercharged V8 has gone.
Short, three door, five seats, or six with the optional front jump seat. Boot 297 litres dry behind the rear seats, 1,263 litres with them folded. The one that drives best and carries least.
Five doors and the broadest choice: five, six or seven seats. As a five seater, 786 litres dry rising to 1,875. With all seven in use, 160 litres. The sensible default.
Stretched behind the rear axle for five, seven or eight seats, with 290 litres dry behind the third row and 1,094 litres behind the second. The only one with a usable boot and eight seats at once.
New for 27MY, the 110 can also be had as a six seater with two captain's chairs in the middle row and a walk through to the third row. Those boot figures are Land Rover's own "dry" measurements, taken with solid blocks behind each row rather than filling the space to the roof, so they are directly comparable with how most manufacturers quote.
Worth being honest about the plug-in hybrid, because it rules out a combination plenty of people come looking for. It is offered on the 110 only, and only as a five seater, because the battery occupies the space under the loadspace. Land Rover says so in its own footnote. There is no plug-in hybrid seven seat Defender, and there is no plug-in hybrid 90 or 130. On electric range, Land Rover's most recent published figure is around 30 miles on the official test, from its 2025 technical specification, and it has not put out an updated figure for the facelifted car. If you want the company car tax position of a plug-in and the space of a seven seater, that compromise does not exist here and we would rather tell you now than at the quote stage. Those bands change each tax year, so take the current figures from your accountant.
There is no fully electric Defender to lease. A smaller electric model built on a different platform is expected around 2027, and the big Defender's own electric version has slipped to the early 2030s because the current platform cannot package the batteries.
The OCTA is a separate, properly engineered thing rather than a styling pack. It uses a 4.4 litre twin turbo V8 with mild hybrid assistance, and the big mechanical change is 6D Dynamics air suspension with hydraulically interlinked dampers, which lets the body stay flat on road while allowing enormous wheel travel off it. It also gets the largest tyres ever fitted to a Defender at 838mm in diameter, an electronic active differential, and its own OCTA setting in Terrain Response 2.
One naming point to watch. For 27MY the UK car is badged P540 with 533bhp, down from the 626bhp P635 it launched as, to meet tightening emissions rules. Torque is unchanged. You will still see P635 quoted widely, including in some of Land Rover's own build links and on plenty of dealer listings, because other markets kept the higher output. If you are comparing OCTA quotes, check which output you are being offered.
The mainstream ladder runs S, X-Dynamic SE, X-Dynamic HSE, X and the new Vertex, which sits alongside X at the top with new bumpers, body coloured panelling and sills and 22 inch diamond cut wheels as standard. If you want the Vertex look without the Vertex, the new Extended Exterior Package brings it to X-Dynamic SE and HSE.
On top of that, the 110 has two Trophy Edition specifications, the 130 has Outbound, and the OCTA comes as OCTA or OCTA Black. For businesses there are Hard Top 90 and Hard Top 110 commercials with the rear seats removed. Equipment moves between model years, so tell us what you need and we will check the specification you are quoted.

Length and seats. The 90 is a short three door with five seats, or six with the front jump seat. The 110 is a five door with five, six or seven seats. The 130 is stretched behind the rear axle for five, seven or eight seats and is the only one with a proper boot behind a third row.
The D250 and D350 six cylinder diesels, the new P380 six cylinder petrol, and a plug-in hybrid on the 110. The OCTA has its own 4.4 litre V8. The old 5.0 litre supercharged V8 has been dropped, as have the earlier P300, P400, D200 and D300 engines.
No. The plug-in hybrid is offered on the 110 only, and only as a five seater, because the battery sits under the loadspace. If you need seven seats you need one of the diesels or the petrol.
Not to lease. A smaller electric Defender on a different platform is expected around 2027, and the full size Defender's electric version has been pushed back to the early 2030s because the current platform cannot package the batteries.
The most capable version, with a 4.4 litre twin turbo V8, 6D Dynamics air suspension using hydraulically interlinked dampers, the largest tyres ever fitted to a Defender and its own Terrain Response setting. For the 2027 model year the UK car is badged P540 with 533bhp, down from the 626bhp it launched with.
S, X-Dynamic SE, X-Dynamic HSE, X and the new Vertex, plus Trophy Edition specifications on the 110, Outbound on the 130, and OCTA and OCTA Black. Hard Top 90 and 110 commercial versions are also available.
As a five seater, 786 litres behind the rear seats and 1,875 litres with them folded, using Land Rover's own measurement taken with solid blocks rather than filling the space to the roof. With all seven seats in use it drops to 160 litres.
LetsLease is a credit broker rather than the lender. We arrange the agreement and place it with a funder such as Lex Autolease, Novuna, Ayvens or Santander, and that funder owns the vehicle and holds the agreement with you. Because we work across several funders rather than one, we can compare how each prices the same car.
