Which Audi Should You Lease?

The right Audi usually comes down to how you will use it. Here is where most drivers land.

Lowest monthly cost

For town and commuter miles, the Audi A1 and Audi A3 give you the premium feel without SUV running costs. The A3 is our most-requested Audi.

Family SUVs

The Q2 and Q3 suit smaller families and tighter driveways. The Q5 adds proper space and a comfier long-distance drive. Only go to the Q7 if you truly need seven seats.

Executive and business

The A5 and A6 still carry the right image for client-facing roles and lease well on business contract hire.

Performance

The RS3, RS5 and RS Q8 are here if you want them, but be realistic about mileage and initial rental on a high-value car.

Petrol, Hybrid or Electric Audi?

Audi's EV line-up is now a serious part of the range: the Q4 e-tron and Q6 e-tron for everyday electric driving, and the e-tron GT as the flagship.

For business drivers the electric Audis are worth a proper look. Fully electric company cars attract far lower Benefit-in-Kind company car tax than petrol equivalents, which is what makes them so popular on salary sacrifice and business leasing. The exact rate changes each tax year, so check the current figure before you decide, and treat this as general information rather than tax advice.

If you are not ready for electric, the petrol and mild-hybrid models are still the bigger sellers, and for lower annual mileage they often make more sense. You can compare the Audi EVs against other premium brands on our electric car leasing page.

Choosing Your Trim

Audi trims climb roughly from Sport, to S line, to Black Edition, and the gap between them is mostly look and equipment rather than performance. S line brings the sportier styling and bigger wheels most people picture when they think of an Audi. Black Edition adds the darkened exterior trim and usually a higher-spec interior. Bigger wheels look the part but can firm up the ride and nudge the monthly up, so if comfort matters, it is worth driving an S line before assuming you need more.

Getting Your Lease Terms Right

Two numbers decide most of your monthly cost: the initial rental and your annual mileage. A larger initial rental brings the monthly down, but only commit to a big upfront payment if you are confident you will see the full contract through. Be honest about mileage too, because excess mileage charges on a premium car add up fast at the end.

If you need the car quickly, check our in stock Audis before placing a factory order, as build lead times on some models run to several months.

Our tip: tell us your real mileage and how long you actually keep cars, and we will quote the term that fits, not the one with the headline-lowest monthly.
