Compare live Volkswagen ID. Buzz lease deals below from an independent, whole of market broker. The ID. Buzz is the electric people carrier, in five, six or seven seat form on two wheelbases. See the ID. Buzz Cargo van, the Multivan, or the rest of the Volkswagen range.
Most cars are bought with the head and justified to the heart afterwards. The ID. Buzz is the other way round, and it is honest about it. It is a fully electric van-shaped people carrier that deliberately looks like the original Transporter, and the reaction it gets from other people on the road is part of what you are leasing.
Underneath the nostalgia it is a serious piece of engineering. Five, six or seven seats, two wheelbases, a 286PS rear motor as standard and official WLTP range of 251 to 300 miles depending on which version you take. It also kept its five star Euro NCAP rating when it was retested in 2025.
This is the decision that matters most, and it is tied to the wheelbase rather than the trim.
2,989mm wheelbase, 4,712mm long. Five seats as standard with six available, a 79kWh usable battery, and a huge 1,121 litre boot behind the second row.
3,239mm wheelbase, 4,962mm long, with a larger 86kWh usable battery. Seven seats as standard, and five or six seat layouts are also available on this body.
Here is the thing worth being honest about before you order the seven seater. With the third row in place the boot is 306 litres. That is a normal supermini boot in a vehicle approaching five metres long, and it is simply what happens when you put seats where the luggage used to go. Nothing wrong with it, but if you need seven seats and their bags at the same time, that combination is the one to go and look at in person. Plenty of owners run the long wheelbase as a five or six seater precisely to get the extra space without the compromise.
Three trim lines. Life is the starting point, Style the better equipped version, and GTX the performance one.
Life and Style both use a 286PS single motor driving the rear wheels, which is plenty for something this shape and makes it surprisingly pleasant to drive. The GTX adds a second motor at the front for 340PS and all wheel drive, which is worth considering if you tow, use unsurfaced tracks or simply want the quickest version.
On charging, the ID. Buzz takes a DC rapid charge at up to 185kW as a five seater and up to 200kW as a seven seater. For a company car driver it sits in the lowest benefit in kind bands, as any fully electric vehicle does, and those bands change each tax year so take the current position from your accountant.
A fair question, because they occupy similar ground. The ID. Buzz is fully electric, so it suits you if you can charge at home and your longer journeys are occasional rather than constant.
The Multivan is the one to look at if you need a diesel for high mileage, or a plug-in hybrid that can fall back on petrol. If you want the panel van rather than the people carrier, that is the ID. Buzz Cargo, which has its own page. Our leasing guides cover term and mileage, and business leasing explains the company position.

It depends on the wheelbase. The short wheelbase has five seats as standard with six available. The long wheelbase has seven as standard, and five or six seat layouts are also offered on that body.
Volkswagen's official WLTP figure is 251 to 300 miles depending on which version you take. The short wheelbase uses a 79kWh usable battery and the long wheelbase a larger 86kWh one. Expect less than the lab figure in winter and at motorway speeds.
306 litres with the third row of seats in place. That is the trade off on any seven seater of this shape, so if you need all seven seats and luggage together, go and look at it in person first. The five seat short wheelbase has 1,121 litres behind the second row.
The Cargo is the panel van, built to carry goods, and it has its own page. This page is the passenger version, with five, six or seven seats, windows all round and a finished interior.
GTX is Volkswagen's performance badge for its electric models. On the ID. Buzz it adds a second motor at the front for 340PS and all wheel drive, where Life and Style use a single 286PS motor driving the rear wheels.
On a DC rapid charger it takes up to 185kW as a five seater and up to 200kW as a seven seater, provided the charger can deliver that rate. At home you would normally charge overnight on a wallbox.
Take the ID. Buzz if you can charge at home and long trips are occasional. Take the Multivan if you need a diesel for high mileage or a plug-in hybrid that can fall back on petrol. They are similar in size and purpose but very different to run.
LetsLease is a credit broker rather than the lender. We arrange the agreement and place it with a funder such as Lex Autolease, Novuna, Ayvens or Santander, and that funder owns the vehicle and holds the agreement with you. Because we work across several funders rather than one, we can compare how each prices the same vehicle.
