Compare Polestar 2 lease deals below on a well built electric fastback where the cheaper single motor goes furthest. See the full Polestar range, or browse all electric car leasing options.
The Polestar 2 is the car that established Polestar as a serious manufacturer rather than a Volvo side project. It is a well built, well judged electric fastback that drives better than most of its rivals and has aged unusually well.
It is also, as of now, a run-out car, and that is the first thing you should know about it.
Global production of the Polestar 2 has ended. UK supply now comes from cars that have already been built rather than from new factory orders. On a two to four year lease that is not a problem in itself, because servicing, parts and warranty continue as normal. But it does mean supply is finite, specifications are whatever has already been built, and the car will be a superseded model for most of your contract. Run-out pricing usually reflects that, which is why these can be among the better value EVs on the market right now.
This catches almost everybody out, so it is worth being blunt about.
| Version | Range position |
|---|---|
| Long range Single motor | Up to 409 miles. The longest range Polestar 2 |
| Long range Dual motor | Shorter range, more performance, higher price |
The single motor car goes further and costs less. You give up the all-wheel drive and a significant chunk of acceleration, and you get the better long distance car for less money.
Unless you specifically want the dual motor's performance or need all-wheel drive for where you live, the single motor is the one to have. That is not the usual way round and it is the single most useful thing on this page.
Properly built. The interior materials, the switchgear and the general sense of solidity are a level above most of the competition, which is Volvo engineering showing through.
It drives tidily, with steering that is accurate and a ride that is firm but not uncomfortable. The honest drawback is packaging: the fastback roofline costs rear headroom, the rear window is small, and taller passengers in the back will notice both. The reversing camera earns its keep.
Charging is quick enough for long journeys, and if you are moving from petrol our guide comparing an electric lease against a petrol lease covers what actually changes day to day.
Anyone who wants a well built electric car that drives well, and who is relaxed about leasing a model that has just gone out of production. On a three year contract you will have a car that was current when you ordered it and superseded when you hand it back, which matters not at all mechanically and may matter to you personally.
Company car drivers do well out of it for the usual reasons, set out in company car leasing and electric vehicles. And because stock is finite, it is worth looking at what is already built and ready to go rather than waiting on a factory order that cannot be placed.
Polestar does not sell trims. You choose a powertrain and then add packs, and one of those packs matters a great deal in a British winter.
| Pack | What it adds |
|---|---|
| Climate | Heat pump, heated rear seats, heated steering wheel, heated washer nozzles |
| Pilot | Driver assistance including Pilot Assist and lane change assist |
| Plus | Upholstery and interior upgrade |
| Pro | 20-inch alloys and Swedish Gold detailing |
| Performance | Dual motor only. Ohlins adjustable dampers, Brembo brakes, forged 20-inch wheels |
| Prime | Bundles Pilot, Plus and Climate together with rear privacy glass |
It sits in the Climate pack. On an electric car used through a UK winter a heat pump is one of the few options that pays you back in range rather than comfort alone, so it is the first thing to check on any quote. If a listing says Prime, the Climate pack is already in there.
You will also see UK dealers listing cars simply as Prime, which is the Prime pack showing up as a quasi-trim in their systems rather than an official Polestar trim name.
The 409 mile headline deserves a caveat, because it is one of two official numbers.
| Figure | What it means |
|---|---|
| 409 miles | The WLTP figure for the car in its lower equipment test configuration |
| 379 miles | The WLTP figure for the higher equipment configuration |
Both are official. Which one describes your car depends on how it is specified, and the thirty mile gap is larger than most people expect. Ask us which applies to the exact car you are quoted on.
The Performance pack costs range too. A Long range Dual motor is rated at 368 miles, and with the Performance pack fitted that falls to 352. Sixteen miles is the price of the Ohlins dampers and Brembo brakes.
| Item | Detail |
|---|---|
| Warranty | 3 years or 60,000 miles |
| Battery warranty | 8 years or 100,000 miles, repaired or replaced free if state of health falls below 70% |
| Corrosion | 12 years against perforation |
| Insurance groups | 40 for Standard range Single motor, 41 Long range Single motor, 44 Long range Dual motor |
| Towing | 1,500kg braked on the Long range Single motor |
An extended warranty of one, two or three years can be bought to start when the vehicle warranty ends, which is worth knowing on a longer agreement.
Five stars, published in March 2021, with strong scores across the board.
| Category | Score |
|---|---|
| Adult occupant | 93% |
| Child occupant | 89% |
| Vulnerable road users | 80% |
| Safety assist | 83% |
The car tested was a Long range Dual motor. One thing worth knowing from the result itself: blind spot information later moved into the optional Pilot pack, which lowered the safety assist score slightly without changing the star rating. If that feature matters to you, check whether it is on the car you are quoted.
Euro NCAP counts validity in three year rating periods and the test has been made harder since 2021, so a five star result from then was measured against an easier standard than one awarded today. It does not make the Polestar 2 unsafe, and the underlying scores are genuinely good. It does mean the badge is worth less than a current five stars.
We have deliberately not printed an expiry date, because Euro NCAP's own published protocol does not set out a simple one.
| Measure | Litres |
|---|---|
| Boot, seats up | 405 |
| Seats folded | 1,095 |
| Under the bonnet | 35 |
405 litres is competitive for the class, and the fastback tailgate opens wide, so the shape is more usable than the roofline suggests. The frunk is small but takes the cables.
The trade-off is headroom rather than boot volume, which is covered above.
Two things to settle before you order. Take the Long range Single motor unless you specifically want the performance or need all-wheel drive, because it goes furthest and costs least. And check whether the Climate pack is on the car, because the heat pump lives in it.
Because the car is in run-out, supply is from what has already been built rather than from a factory order, so the specification available is whatever exists. That usually works in your favour on price, and it does mean being flexible on colour and pack.
Worth comparing against current special offers and, if you need something quickly, cars that are already built and ready to go.
If the Polestar is not quite the car, these are the rest of the Polestar range we can price for you.

Production has reportedly ended, with the last car leaving the line in October 2026, though Polestar has not formally confirmed it and there is no official end date. UK supply now comes from cars already built. Servicing, parts and warranty continue as normal, so a two to four year lease is unaffected mechanically. It does mean supply is finite and specifications are whatever has already been made.
The Long range Single motor, at up to 409 miles. It goes further than the dual motor version and costs less. Unless you want the extra performance or need all-wheel drive, the single motor is the better car for most people.
Not for a lease. You are not carrying the residual value risk, servicing and warranty continue, and run-out pricing is often better than it was when the car was current. The main practical points are that stock is limited and you cannot specify a factory order.
Yes, noticeably so. Interior materials and general solidity are a step above most rivals, which reflects the Volvo engineering underneath. It is one of the car's strongest points.
The single motor long range version is, with up to 409 miles and quick charging. The fastback roofline costs a little rear headroom, and the small rear window means you will rely on the camera, but on motorways it is quiet and comfortable.
Only with the Climate pack, which also adds heated rear seats, a heated steering wheel and heated washer nozzles. It is not standard. On an electric car used through a British winter a heat pump is one of the few options that pays you back in range rather than just comfort, so check whether your quote includes it. A car listed as Prime already has it.
Because both are official. The Long range Single motor is rated at 409 miles in its lower equipment WLTP configuration and 379 miles in the higher equipment one. Which applies depends on how your car is specified, and the thirty mile gap is bigger than most people expect, so ask which figure covers the exact car you are quoted on.
The Long range Single motor is rated at 1,500kg braked. If towing matters, confirm the figure against the exact variant you are quoted on, because it is not the same across the range.
Five stars with Euro NCAP, published in March 2021, with 93% for adult occupant protection, 89% for child occupants, 80% for vulnerable road users and 83% for safety assist. Those are strong scores. Bear in mind the test has been made harder since 2021, so a five star result from then was measured against an easier standard than one awarded today.
405 litres with the seats up, 1,095 litres folded, plus a 35 litre compartment under the bonnet. The fastback tailgate opens wide so the space is more usable than the sloping roofline suggests. The compromise on this car is rear headroom rather than boot volume.
Not necessarily. Euro NCAP's own result notes that blind spot information later moved into the optional Pilot pack, which slightly lowered the safety assist score without changing the star rating. If you want it, check it is on the specific car you are quoted on rather than assuming.
LetsLease is a credit broker rather than the lender. We arrange the agreement and place it with a funder such as Lex Autolease, Novuna, Ayvens or Santander, and that funder owns the vehicle and holds the agreement with you. Because we work across several funders rather than one, we can compare how each prices the same car.
